Phone Notifications

How to get notifications of your phone by movement detection?

Step 1: Make sure your tracker has been put in Security Mode. This is the only mode that offers notifications.
See how to change tracker modes here.

Step 2: Access your phone’s settings and make sure the correct notification settings are activated.
Make sure that your phone has been given permission to receive push notifications.

Select ”Always” to allow push notifications, even for when your iPhone’s screen is locked.
If you access ”Notification Style”, you may also choose different notification styles. From here you may choose wether a notification should be temporary or persistent on your phone’s screen.

Android or other phone models?

Please read this article to understand the notification settings on your Android phone.

If you have another phone model, the settings might be different. If you cannot find the settings you are looking for, please read more about what they state on their official websites, or directly make contact with their customer support.

Not recieving any notifications?

If you do not receive any notifications, there might be some settings in your phone that prevent this action from occurring. Examples of settings that might prevent you from receiving any notifications are night mode and/or power saving mode.

Audible alert on your phone?

You’ll receive phone alerts when your bike detects movement — even if your phone is set to silent.
The audible alert bypasses your phone’s silent mode to ensure you’re notified when your bike is being moved.

Customize your alert sound:
iPhone: Settings < Sound & Haptics < Default Alerts
Android: Settings < Sound < Default notification sound
Some phones will have slightly different menu names or steps. Check your device’s sound settings if needed.

Audible alert on your tracker?

The tracker itself does not have an audible alert.
This is an advantage for our customers, as the thieves should not know that the tracker is installed. If they know the tracker is there, they may try to physically remove or damage the device. Without the audible alert, the Bikefinder will be able to quietly do its job in the background, and the theft scenario will continue to be tracked by the Bikefinder, resulting in a higher chance of recovering the stolen bike.
